Wierzynek, the oldest and most iconic restaurant of Krakow

Join us for an unforgettable optional dinner on Friday evening at Wierzynek, Krakow’s oldest and most iconic restaurant. Steeped in nearly seven centuries of tradition, Wierzynek traces its origins to 1364, when the wealthy merchant Mikołaj Wierzynek hosted a spectacular feast at the request of King Casimir the Great. This legendary banquet—attended by the Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV, the King of Hungary, the King of Cyprus, and nobles from across Central Europe—was a diplomatic marvel said to have lasted twenty-one days. Historic paintings of the opulent celebration and of King Casimir himself still echo this extraordinary legacy.

Today, Wierzynek continues to honor its heritage of grand hospitality. Guests can look forward to delightful surprises such as the chef’s imaginative porcini-mushroom mousse, adding a modern twist to time-honored flavors.
