The European Plastics Distributors Assocation (EPDA) is subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).   This Privacy Notice explains how we use the personal information we collect about you via our website.

When you visit our website

You can visit our website without giving away your personal information. EPDA uses Google Analytics and Cookies in order to improve our service, user experience and analyse how the website is used.

Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard internet log information and visitor behaviour information. You can set your browser not to accept cookies and remove them from your browser. However, please note that some of our website features may not function as a result.  Aside from the approximate location (IP address), the information collected by Google Analytics is mostly anonymous traffic data including browser information, device information and language.

The collected information is used to provide an overview of how people are accessing and using the EPDA website. It is not used for any additional purpose, such as to profile those who access our website.

When you register for an event through us

When you register for an event via our website, you are required to provide full contact details, as well as special / dietary requirements and other event specific information.  You will find explanations as to why we are collecting certain data and what we will do with it.  A separate Privacy Notice specific to that event can be found on each booking site, which you can review before you complete your booking.

When you register for membership through us

When you register to become a member of EPDA via our website, you are required to provide full contact details. You will find explanations as to why we are collecting certain data and what we will do with it. A separate Privacy Notice can be found on the membership site, which you can review before you complete your application.

When you contact us

When you contact us via the EPDA website, you may do so by telephone, email or post.  EPDA therefore collects the personal information you provide (such as your name, email address, organisation), which will be processed and stored only so that it is possible for us to contact and respond to your enquiry.

It is not used for any additional purpose, such as marketing.

When you opt in to receive the EPDA newsletter

If you wish to receive the EPDA newsletter by email, you can complete the form on the EPDA website.  EPDA therefore collects your name, email address and organisation, which are passed to the EPDA’s PR company, who are responsible for sending out the EPDA newsletter.  You may unsubscribe at any time.

Your details are not used for any additional purpose, such as marketing.

Social media plug-ins

Our website features two plug-ins for easy sharing and following our social media pages: Facebook, operated by Facebook Ireland Ltd, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland and Twitter, operated by Twitter International Company, One Cumberland Place, Fenian Street, Dublin 2, Ireland.

Being on our website does not automatically result in sharing data on these social media networks. These plug-ins remain inactive (idle) until clicked upon. Once clicked upon, you will be taken to the said social media networks with their own specific privacy policies you are recommended to consult.

Information Security

EPDA cares to ensure the security of personal data.  When EPDA collects information about you, we also make sure that your information is protected from unauthorized access, loss, manipulation, falsification, destruction or unauthorized disclosure. This is done through appropriate technical and organisational measures.

Access to information

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. You can do this by contacting us  at registration@sasevents.co.uk. In order to comply with your request, we will ask you to verify your identity.  We will send your copy electronically, unless the request expressly specifies a different method.

Information Correction & Deletion

We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate.  Any data that is no longer needed for the purposes specified will be deleted.  If at any point you wish EPDA to delete information about you, you can contact us.

How will we use the information about you?

Website data is used for website analytics only.  It is not shared with third parties.

Personal data collected via the newsletter sign up form is used to send you the EPDA newsletter and is shared with the EPDA’s PR company.

When this policy applies

This Privacy Policy is applicable to the services offered EPDA directly via our website. Our website contains links to other websites. Once redirected to another website, this Policy is no longer applicable.
