Sustainable materials is a trendy topic these days, also for PyraSied Xtreme Acrylic who has been a specialist in acrylic for over 35 years now. Last year PyraSied set itself the goal to be also a specialist in recycled acrylic and sustainable design plastics. We are very happy with our suppliers of acrylic and polycarbonate sheets, tubes and rods. They helped us grow through the years and because of their A-brand materials we can be a real specialist for our customers. In 2018 we saw the world change and our interior design customers asked more and more for sustainable materials. In 2019 we introduced our collection of eco-friendly plastics to the Dutch market. We chose to promote the recycled cast acrylic Greencast® more and also stock it in 50 different colours, opals and thicknesses so that anyone who wants to use acrylic in their idea or product can also choose recycled acrylic. From this summer on, we also have Ecocrylic® recycled XT acrylic in clear in stock. Ecocrylic® consists of 70% recycled content. In the near future Ecocrylic® sheets will also contain cutoffs from PyraSied. We are also currently researching the quality of Ecocrylic® with 100% recycled content.
For our design plastics, we have two environmentally friendly brands, Smile Plastics and Durat® Palace. Smile Plastics are decorative sheets that are fully made from used plastic waste. Durat® Palace is a solid surface material that contains 30% recycled acrylic. We are very happy with our wide range of quality, design and sustainable plastics. Now we can offer our customers virgin and recycled material depending on the application.
