Peerless Plastics & Coatings: Investing in Growth, Innovation and Continuous Improvement

For Peerless Plastics & Coatings Ltd, 2026 is proving to be a significant year of investment and development. Following a sustained period of growth, the company is continuing to invest in its people, processes and technology, with the aim of improving quality, efficiency and its ability to deliver advanced surface technologies to customers in the UK and international markets.

A major focus this year has been a £250,000 investment in coating technology. Upgrades to the sheet coating process include improved temperature and humidity control, airflow, filtration and process controls. These improvements are helping Peerless achieve greater consistency and efficiency, with lacquer consumption reduced by more than 20% on certain coating processes without compromising performance or finished quality. The company has also upgraded its UV curing capabilities for both sheet and 3D components, supporting the development of coatings designed for increased durability, UV stability and resistance to wear.

Innovation remains another key part of Peerless’ plans. In 2026, the company completed a dedicated R&D and testing laboratory, equipped with new testing and inspection technology. This will strengthen its ability to develop and optimise specialist coating systems, including solutions offering abrasion and chemical resistance, anti-glare, anti-fog, ESD/static dissipation and UV and weather resistance. Alongside this, new digital print technology and additional CNC routing capability are expanding the company’s integrated manufacturing offering.

Peerless is also investing in its people and internal processes. The company has strengthened its management team, expanded employee involvement through dedicated committees and increased its focus on training, quality, health and safety, environmental management and workplace organisation. These initiatives are designed to make continuous improvement part of everyday operations and support the company’s ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.

Looking ahead, Peerless is preparing for its next stage of growth. A warehouse extension at its Thetford manufacturing site is planned to increase material storage capacity, improve availability and support its growing network of customers and distributors across the UK, Europe, Asia and North America. With new coatings under development, further manufacturing improvements planned and an expanding international network, Peerless is continuing its journey of continuous improvement — with innovation, quality and sustainability at the heart of its plans.
