Buchholz in Westerwald, June 2021: The Licharz Group, consisting of Licharz GmbH and Licharz Polyamidguss GmbH with its foreign subsidiaries in England and France, has successfully mastered the transition from the founding family to another entrepreneurial family. After over sixty years in the founding family, the companies were transitioned to Dr. Otto Lose. Dr. Lose, who himself comes from an entrepreneurial family, will also join the company management as the new Managing Director at the beginning of June.
“We, the Licharz family, did not take this decision lightly. In recent years, however, it became apparent that the next generation had other interests and inclinations and would not be continuing with the company. Together with Alfred Licharz sr., the founder of the company, we therefore decided a few years ago to consider other ways of ensuring the company’s continued success,”
says Alfred Licharz Jr. who himself managed the company for many years together with his brother-in-law Marc Licharz.
“I come from an entrepreneurial family and have always had the desire to become an entrepreneur myself. For several years, I have been looking for an industrial company that needed a succession plan. The companies of the Licharz Group have everything I know from my past in industrial companies and what it takes for a successful development in the future,”
says the new owner and Managing Director Otto Lose.
Licharz is a Europe-wide manufacturer of semi-finished products and component parts made of cast polyamide. This material is very strong with good sliding and damping properties as well as high wear resistance. This combination, together with attractive costs – especially for larger dimensions – makes the material interesting for many fields of use and applications. The areas of application in mechanical engineering are correspondingly broad. The company was founded in 1962, has grown almost continuously since then and today has around 250 employees.
