Mag Dr Susanne Gfatter, MAS; FCIO (Federal Chemical Association of Austria)
After studying at the University of Vienna and working as a toxicologist, her plastics career started at the raw material supplier Borealis, in the Product Stewardship department, responsible for legal compliance of the products and incoming feed-stock. In 2014 she switched the Austrian Chemical Industry Association as an advisor for chemicals and waste law. Additionally, Susanne is responsible for the manufacturing and converting plastics industry.

Dress code: Traditional/national dress of your country.
This year’s gala dinner is located a walk away from the conference hotel, you will begin the evening with a local tour guide to discover the hidden history of Salzburg on the way to dinner. On arrival to St Peter you will be greeted with a drink within the walls of St. Peter’s Abbey. The restaurant is believed to be the oldest existing restaurant in the world. Dinner will be served in Baroque Hall which is famous for Mozart Concerts and you will be enjoy a short performance during dinner.

Full day Tour – Friday 14th June €80

A private guided tour of the city starting and finishing from the hotel. On this walking tour, you will see Salzburg’s breathtaking Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque artistry, including the world famous gardens of Mirabell, the house where Mozart was raised and the house where he was born in the shoppping street Getreidegasse. You will also see the Salzburg Dome Cathedral, St. Peter´s Monastery and many other important sights and symbols. Lunch is included in this tour.

Half day Tour – Friday 14th June €65

You will be collected from the hotel and undertake a short walk to Edelweiss Cooking School.. This Cooking Class is perfect to combine your lunch with a fun hands-on experience. Eat one´s fill is guaranteed. In the cooking lessons you will be given the opportunity to cook on your own while being carefully guided by our experienced chef. You will acquire a wealth of culinary knowledge in an extremely fun and relaxed environment. Alongside the lessons you will learn some of the most interesting facts pertaining to the history of famous Austrian delicacies. Guests will attain an acute insight into the history of Austrian Cuisine.

Half day Tour – Saturday 15th June €40

Your tour guide will collect you from the hotel and walk you across the city to the Medieval fortification complex and the later period castle tower majestically above the Salzburg city rooftops representing 900 years of building history.  Some adventurers want to climb the castle on foot, although during this tour you be riding the funicular which is quicker and more comfortable. The view over the Archbishop’s city and the mountainous region is spectacular and unforgettable. It’s worth visiting Fortress Hohensalzburg just for the panoramic vista. Click here for a short video

Salzburg, a “beery” great place! Right from the start brewing was an entirely woman’s matter here in Salzburg! Why did Salzburg develop such a great and varied brewing tradition, how did it all begin and why beer became so important, how Salzburg’s traditional “Stiegl” brewery got its name, why the Müllner Bräu brewery has become a magnet for beer enthusiasts, who were the “Untersberg water horsemen” and what role did they play in Salzburg’s beer history – this and much, much more can be found out on this 3-hour historic walking beer tour. An informative and amusing guided tour of Salzburg in which we demonstrate the city’s brewing competence, explore its entire beer brewing culture and enjoy a stop-off for refreshments in one of the city’s oldest public houses.

Salzburg

Salzburg may be small at first glance, but it is actually a metropolis of cultural happenings. Theatres, museums, galleries, concerts and festivals, Salzburg has something to offer for every taste! Best of all, the attractions, concert halls and theatres can easily be reached from the hotel by a short walk.

You will arrive into Salzburg’s only airport (W.A. Mozart Airport) which is located just minutes from the city centre and the conference hotel.
