This year’s Distributors’ Forum at Simona AG’s plant in Kirn, Germany, is the ideal learning curve for the next generation of plastics industry leaders, say organisers the European Plastics Distributors Association (EPDA).
Established in 2015 to help improve efficiency in the plastics industry, the second Distributors’ Forum organised by the EPDA is being hosted by Simona, a major manufacturer of thermoplastic semi-finished products, pipes and fittings, as well as finished parts. The forum includes a tour of the company’s state-of-the-art facilities during the two days.
With numbers limited and to avoid disappointment, distributor members are being encouraged to book places for employees who could benefit from experiencing the forum, where the keynote speakers’ sessions will be given by Johannes ‘Johnny’ Götze, Head of Götze Kommunikation and Prof. Dr. Jörn Block from the University of Trier, respectively.
Media communications expert Johannes Götze will take his audience on an interactive journey into the world of cognitive psychology on the first day of the forum, while on the following day Dr. Jörn Block’s presentation will be on the introduction of disruptive business models and how they can lead to the entry of new players and transform entire markets and industries.
Simona’s Chief Operating Officer, Dirk Möller, and Head of Division Semi-Finished Products, Dr Peter Müller will provide the opening introductions, while EPDA President Lari Hahtonen will lead a discussion group on the second day. There will also be opportunities on each day of the event for members to network over dinner or lunch respectively.
Lari Hahtonen said: “Following the success of last year’s event, we are delighted to continue this approach of exchanging views and ideas in a relaxed setting which can only help us improve the plastics market in Europe. It’s an ideal platform for the next generation in the plastics industry to experience the mechanics of an EPDA event.”
EPDA was formed in 1973 and is the voice of the European plastics distribution industry, representing companies in more than 20 countries involved in a cross section of distribution activities encompassing plastic sheet, blocks, rods, profiles, tubes, pipe, valves, fittings and numerous related activities.
Mr Hahtonen says that one of the biggest advantages of joining the EPDA is being able to exchange information and the networking opportunities that membership provides. This is always integral to the different events that EPDA organises like the Distributors’ Forum.
By joining EPDA you get full access to members and the ability to meet many of them in one single location, thus keeping travelling costs down whilst getting the chance to link up with like-minded business people and explore new business opportunities.
