NEW BUILDING PROVIDES ADDITIONAL PRODUCTION CAPABILITIES FOR CGK GROUP
CGK Group BVBA has invested 3 million Euros in its new 3.500 m2 premises, with offices, a production hall for custom-made plastic storage tanks and a spacious warehouse for the distribution of its environmental range of products.

When constructing the new production hall, the company took into account the production of storage tanks with double walls. The height of the premises is about 15 metres, which enables the company to easily place the collection tank into the storage tank. Tanks are voluminous, large and difficult to move, and a lot of attention was given to the space’s internal logistics, which consist of six zones — incoming goods, warehouse, machining, assembly, quality control and outgoing goods. Machining has its own separate hall. The large stock of environmental products — with storage containers, leak collectors, etc. — is now more centralised.

CGK’s new building allows the company to strive to become an important player in the plastic construction market, but with a focus on environmentalism.

WEFAPRESS OFFERS FOOD INDUSTRY SOLUTION
Wefapress has set a new standard in the food industry with its St 6000 Metal Detectable Plastic. Microscopically tiny additives are mixed into this special new material, allowing it to be easily detected and then removed from food products with magnets. This means that producers equipping their installations with plastic components made of St 6000 MDP will be able to establish new levels of safety in food processing.

In addition, St 6000 MDP — just like all other premium products from Wefapress — offers excellent wear characteristics and gliding properties, high bending strength and impact resistance and low abrasion. It also meets the EU and FDA regulations for materials used in food processing.

For more information, visit www.wefapress.com.

PLASTICS FOR THE MEDICAL SECTOR
The requirements on plastics, especially for use in the medical sector, are constantly increasing. Life-science-grade (LSG) plastics and medical technology (MT) plastics are best suited for the medical sector.

Plastics that come into contact with human tissue or bodily fluids have to satisfy exacting requirements in terms of purity and biocompatibility. A standard feature of these LSG/MT plastics is their key certification of compliance with USP Class VI and ISO 10993 norms. This LSG product family includes engineering and high-performance plastics such as KETRON® PEEK LSG, RADEL® PPSU LSG, ULTEM® PEI LSG, PSU LSG, PC LSG, ACETRON® LSG, PPE and PPSU. LSG and MT plastics in its standard product range are available on stock at Angst+Pfister.

NEWS from the Industry

PLASTICS RECYCLING HANDBOOK AVAILABLE
Over the past 20 years recycling of plastics has increased dramatically. This is important not only from the environmental point of view (less landfill space is needed), but also from the economic point of view because recycling allows energy and materials to be reused.

Research and Markets has released a new book that discusses some of the state-of-the-art techniques of recycling post-consumer plastic materials. It focuses on mechanical and chemical recycling and energy recovery.

This book is intended for those who are interested in recycling of post consumer plastic waste. Although, this book discusses technical aspects of recycling, the authors have made it easily understandable to anyone interested in the subject. This book enables the reader to gain a thorough grounding in all the subjects discussed and each chapter has a bibliography to allow follow-up on subjects of interest.

This book is an invaluable resource for those already working in the field or for those just starting out in recycling. For a complete index of this report, visit
www.researchandmarkets.com/product/4730ae/handbook_of_plastics_recycling.
