Expansion of 3A Composites Display Business

Schweiter Technologies is further strengthening its display business with 3A Composites and has entered into an agreement to acquire the Polycasa Group, a leading manufacturer of transparent plastic sheeting, from the Aventas Group. In 2014 Polycasa generated sales of circa. EUR 180 million. The agreed enterprise value for the Polycasa Group (on a cash free/debt free basis) is EUR 120 million. The transaction will be completed following approval by the relevant competition authorities.

IAPD Honours Nick Kraguljac, Zell-Metall GmbH with the 2014 Paul Davis Award of Merit

PLAST 2015

PVC4 Pipes & 25 Years of Recycling

As many as eighteen papers (see list below) dealing with the commercial and technical aspects of PVC pipe systems were delivered at the recent Plastic Pipes XVII Conference and exhibition in Chicago. Subject matter varied from the molecular to the ‘spectacular’ with in-depth analysis of PVC raw material and additives, breakthroughs in pipe design and installation methods, upward market trends for PVC-O pipe systems as well as recent findings in the sustainable nature of PVC pipe materials compared to non-plastic pipe systems. Furthermore, the Chicago conference marked the 25th anniversary of recycling PVC pipes and fittings.

Green Polymer Chemistry 2015 International Conference

Everyone is doing it – looking for better materials to become more sustainable. It is good for the environment and it is also good for the brands as consumers want to contribute to a better world. So how far has the renewable sourcing revolution gone for the plastics and elastomer industries? Professor Endres of the Institute for Bioplastics and Biocomposites will outline the markets and the latest developments at the next international conference on Green Polymer Chemistry 2015 organised by AMI and taking place from 18-19 March 2015 in Cologne, Germany. EPDA Honours the International Association of Plastics Distribution Staff

EPDA_awardThe European Plastics Distributors Association (EPDA) recently honoured the staff of the International Association of Plastics Distribution (IAPD), which had been managing EPDA under IAPD’s subsidiary, Association Services International (ASI). During the opening general session of the 58th Annual IAPD Convention and Plastics Expo in Chicago, IL, USA on 29 October 2014, EPDA President David Ladyman of Vink Holdings Ltd. and Board Members Lari Hahtonen of Aikolon Oy and Stefan Willing of Quadrant EEP Deutschland GmbH presented IAPD CEO and ASI President Susan E. Avery, CAE, with an award and thanked Avery and her staff for their more than ten years of management of EPDA. According to Ladyman, “We genuinely appreciate all the hard work over the past decade from entire team at ASI, and are pleased to be able to mark the occasion with this small token of appreciation.”
