Bubble-containing plastic developed for lightweight construction / Detectable plastic launched for food industry

German plastics processor Ensinger has introduced a material containing glass bubbles for lightweight construction applications and a detectable plastic for the food industry. “Tecacomp” LW is a thermoplastic material containing hollow glass microspheres, or bubbles, to reduce the material’s density. The bubbles, manufactured by Ensinger’s cooperation partner 3M, are added to the polymer matrix. They have a diameter of a few microns and an extremely thin glass wall. Read more.
