ASI contracts with EPDA’s new European Account Services Coordinator

ASI, EPDA’s association management firm is pleased to announce that Jackie Driss Laurent is its new EPDA European Account Services Coordinator.

ASI is a subsidiary of the International Association of Plastics Distribution (IAPD), an alliance of EPDA, and supports EPDA as its association management company. The position of the EPDA European Account Services Coordinator is responsible for management support in Europe for EPDA.

The management services, provided by this position, include membership services and support, meeting planning, customer service, committee management and coordination of EPDA’s programs and services.

ASI went through a very thorough search for this position, searching for candidates all over Europe. Jackie Driss Laurent was found to be the most qualified and competent candidate for the position.

“Jackie brings to EPDA the leadership, organizational communication and membership-focus skills needed to help better serve EPDA and its members,” ASI President and EPDA Executive Secretary, Susan Avery, CAE, said. “I believe that as our members get to know Jackie, they too will find that she is a kind, competent and dynamic professional who is completely capable of supporting EPDA and its members.”

Ms. Laurent is based in the UK and general correspondence will be maintained from the UK offices. However, EPDA will maintain its registration in Germany and will be supported in Germany by its current tax advisor and staff. EPDA will have two official offices, both in Germany and the UK.

About Jackie Driss Laurent

Jackie Driss Laurent is accredited with the London Chamber of Commerce Business Studies Certification, alongside secretarial diplomas passed with distinction. She has extensive work experience in many office environments, including time spent as a freelance personal assistant. Her career began at UKAEA Headquarters in central London as personal assistant to its Deputy Legal Advisor, before moving within the organisation to a role in Public Relations.

After the birth of her sons, she found a new challenge with a heating consultancy with its own outlet. The formation of this business involved the creation and development of control management and ordering systems. Once these primary goals had been established, a secretarial assistant was engaged to undertake day-to-day activities while she focussed on business progression and marketing.

Following a return to formal education at college to complement the qualifications and skills achieved previously, Jackie managed an architects’ office and provided support to the partners of a design agency, before establishing her own business. ‘PA Services’ provided secretarial assistance to a variety of businesses, including office administration, research and event planning, project management, data processing and marketing.

Personal achievements included the renovation of a property in Hertfordshire and the current restoration of a Listed Georgian house in Buckinghamshire. Her partner is an eminent archaeologist with numerous publications, TV and radio credits.

Now engaged to work as EPDA’s Account Services Coordinator, Jackie said, “I relish the opportunity this role presents and feel privileged to have been engaged to work for EPDA, with its dynamism, reputation and vision.

“At the moment the EPDA team and I are setting up the UK office, and thereafter one of my first priorities will be to make contact with EPDA members and introduce myself personally. I look forward to a long and successful working relationship as part of the EPDA organisation, serving its members across Europe.”
